Understand metrics and filter scope

Interpret fees, partial exits, R, calendar windows, and history access before comparing results.

Net P&L and fees

Chart Reporter uses net P&L = profit + commission + swap, in the account's currency. Commission and swap use the signs supplied by the broker. A missing fee value contributes zero; this does not establish that the broker charged no fee. Compare records in the same account currency; totals across different account currencies are not a currency conversion.

Monetary displays use a confirmed account currency when available. Missing metadata is labelled as unconverted account units, without assuming USD. Confirmed mixed currencies suppress monetary totals, expectancy and profit-factor comparisons; valid counts and R views remain available. Selecting one account does not supply missing currency metadata.

Closed-trade performance uses realised results. An open trade's floating profit is not a completed outcome. Cumulative net P&L charts plot recorded results rather than broker balance or live account equity: deposits, withdrawals and floating P&L are not the same series.

Profit factor and expectancy

Profit factor is the sum of positive net P&L divided by the absolute sum of negative net P&L. Gains without losses give an unbounded result; no nonzero outcomes give an unavailable result. Fees can change an outcome from a gain to a loss.

Expectancy on configurable Metric Cards is mean net P&L per closed trade, in account units. R expectancy on R-based analytics is mean eligible R; it can use net money R or fallback price R. Check the unit and eligible count before comparing these values. Use the stat information icon by hover, keyboard focus, click, or tap to read its definition and limitations.

Partial exits and records

The execution timeline shows partial closes and other events attached to a trade. Review the trade's final recorded result and volume alongside those events. Do not add an event's close proceeds to the trade's recorded P&L again, or count each partial-close event as an independent completed trade. Until final closure, some performance measures exclude that position. If a partial exit appears wrong, report its ticket, event time and final-close state using troubleshooting.

R definitions and unavailable values

Planned price R is the directional move from entry to exit divided by the initial stop distance. It requires a valid initial stop and a completed exit. Replay R gridlines show price movement on this basis, excluding commission and swap.

Net money R, where derivable, expresses net P&L relative to inferred monetary initial risk, including fees. Some analytics use the best available R: net money R when derivable, otherwise planned price R. A price R and a net R can therefore differ. Read the widget definition before comparing them.

Missing initial stops or insufficient data produce unavailable R, rather than a zero-risk or zero-R trade. Missing excursion/candle inputs can similarly exclude a trade from a specialised calculation. Read the eligible count as well as the overall loaded sample count.

Date windows and Local / Broker time

Calendar selections are inclusive dates in the selected timezone; the query uses the start of the first day and the start of the day after the last date. Switching timezone changes those UTC boundaries. Local uses your local timezone; Broker uses the selected account's broker timezone. Choose one hub when diagnosing broker-time differences, especially across daylight-saving changes or accounts with different broker timezones.

Use the same date, hub, symbol, strategy, tag and session filters when comparing widgets. A comparison can preserve the dimension it is comparing, such as showing multiple strategies even when one strategy is selected; read its scope note. A failed or incomplete sample is not a reliable ranking. Loaded/total counts and eligibility notices explain whether the displayed result covers the intended sample.

History access and archived accounts

The 7-day trial includes all features. After it ends, Trader has 3-day history, Pro has 90-day history, and Sovereign has unlimited history under the current plan definitions. Check your effective access in Settings → Subscription. A signup plan preference alone does not change access or start payment.

An access window can restrict the effective date range; choosing a longer range does not grant access beyond that window. Archived hubs are excluded from normal active-hub views. If expected trades disappear, inspect the access/scope notice, account selection and archive state before diagnosing ingestion.

For individual formulas and eligibility, use the analytics widget reference and trade review reference. For missing or inconsistent results, use task-based troubleshooting.
